Bat Ella and Guy Mintus with Raanana Symphonette

An intercultural concert at the Tel Aviv Museum

Bat Ella joins the Raanana Symphonette again and this time she joins the successful Israeli pianist and composer Guy Mintus in a multicultural orchestral fantasy. An encounter between Bat Ella’s rich repertoire of inspirational and prayer songs from Jewish sources and modern Hebrew poetry with Guy’s imaginative and piano world, enveloped in the special sound of Raanana Symphonette conducted by Matan Yonah, in orchestral arrangements written especially for this concert.

Bat Ella – an Israeli soul singer, a graduate of the Southern Command band, grew up and was educated in Dimona. Her parents originate from Jerusalem parents with roots in Aleppo (Syria) and Persia. Bat Ella is firmly committed to bridging between people and she brings that commitment to the forefront with great uniqueness in her performances. A rapprochement between Jews and Arabs, between secular and religious Jews. Thanks to her many performances in Jewish communities throughout the United States, she also bridges between Diaspora Jewry and Israel. In Israel she has appeared in many important venues, from Zappa to Caesarea, under the musical supervision of Amos Ben-David and Ariel Keshet.

Bat Ella’s songs are melodies and arrangements that express the rich musical texture of the Israeli melting pot. The powerful lyrics of the songs, the catchy melodies, the rich arrangements and the sensitive and touching performance of Bat Ella, create a show that is all about Israeli soul music – an uplifting, happy and heartwarming musical experience.

Bat Ella has released three albums: “Tefilati” and “Lechi Lach” arranged and musically directed by Amos Ben David and “Moments” arranged and directed by Ariel Keshet. She is currently working on her fourth album with Amos Ben-David.

Guy Mintus – Pianist and international and multicultural composer dividing his time and activities between Israel and New York. Guy feels at home whether he performs at jazz festivals around the world, as a soloist with classical orchestras or in collaborations with masters of traditional Turkish, Moroccan, Indian, Greek, Persian music and more. Guy is the winner of the Leonard Bernstein Award, his latest trio album was recommended by the New York Times and the prestigious DownBeat magazine. Recently, a new documentary was released about the musical “Fiddler on the Roof” for which Guy composed and recorded original music.
