Many French composers, from Lalo to Chabrier, were fascinated by the intense Spanish rhythms and the Cante Jondo, the Gypsy folk singing, and wrote music inspired by Spain.

Greek conductor Kornilios Michailiidis has already won the heart of the Israeli audience when he conducted the Raanana Symphonette at the Isrotel ClassicCameri Festival in Eilat. This time he is joined by Sofia Avramidou, a composer and singer from Thessaloniki, one of the pre-eminent Greek artists nowadays. She will perform a world-premiere of her work inspired by The Road to Ithaca, as well as classic hits by Manos Hadjidakis. The works by Beethoven, inspired by the myth of Prometheus, seal this fascinating evening.
